Welcome to Joy Elementary School!I'm honored and excited to serve as the principal of Joy.  

I started my career with Michigan City Area Schools as a Curriculum Coach, and have worked in various capacities as an administrator for the past 15 years. Last year, I was the Assistant Principal here at Joy, and I got to know many of our students and families. I am thrilled to now be leading our Vikings! 

Our theme for this school year is: "Stronger Together." 

We are a large elementary school, but by working together we keep the focus on providing each student with what they need to be successful. Our families, staff, and students are the BEST -- and that is the magic that creates an atmosphere at Joy that is welcoming, collaborative, and inclusive. 

We have so many diverse opportunities at our school! Our academic offerings include programs for students with special needs, a multiage program for high-ability students, and a rigorous core curriculum that challenges all students. We have an amazing before- and after-school program, clubs, athletics, robotics, music and arts programs, and much more. 

How can you help? Get involved! Whether you are a student, a staff member, a parent, or a community member, we welcome you to use your talents to help us shine -- together.
