Welcome to Joy Elementary School!I'm honored and excited to serve as the principal of Joy.  

I have worked with Michigan City Area Schools for my entire career, first as a special education teacher at Elston, Edgewood, and Joy.  The last few years, I served as the district's MTSS Support Specialist, which allowed me to spend time in all the buildings in Michigan City working with teachers and students in academic and behavioral interventions. I have a master's degree in special education, trauma-informed education, and building leadership. I am a proud Joy parent and former Joy teacher, and I am super excited to be Joy’s principal for the upcoming school year!

I look forward to working with Joy’s students, family, and staff to ensure academic success for all students.  Please take a moment to explore our website to learn more about our school.  We strive for open communication and would love to have you involved in our Joy crew!  Families are welcome to join our parent group.
